COMMUNICATOR 3000/XL: XL REL. 2.2 (A.41.00)

Introducing the TRANSACT/XL NM Compiler TRANCOMP/XL

by May Lee--Santa Clara Information Systems Division

TRANCOMP/XL A.08.03, a Native Mode version of TRANCOMP/V is now
available. It offers all the features of Compatibility Mode TRANCOMP/V
plus the ability to compile larger programs and a reduced need for
segmentation. The TRANCOMP/XL filename is TCOMPXL and is a component of
TRANSACT/XL A.03.01 and cannot be ordered separately.

TRANCOMP/XL offers other important benefits. Users can compile existing
programs that are currently having stack problems and programs that
currently compile under FASTRAN, but not under TRANCOMP/V because of
stack limitations. Additionally, limitations for items, literals, and
p-codes have been extended.

TRANSACT/XL A.03.01 will use TRANCOMP/XL as a default. Through the use
of a compiler option, TRANSACT/XL can optionally use TRANCOMP/V, the
Compatibility Mode compiler.
