HP EDIT/XL Asian Languages Enhancement

HP EDIT/XL is a full-screen text editor featuring a user-configurable
environment with an extensive set of commands including: full-screen
editing, unlimited undo, support for COBOL and standard-numbered files,
cutting and pasting between files, an online help system, and a macro
language. This version of HP EDIT/XL introduces support for editing text
files that contain 16-bit Asian characters.
NEW FEATURES AND BENEFITS
The HP EDIT/XL support for 16-bit characters includes the ability to:
* Insert, delete, and replace 16-bit text.
* Process a combination of 16-bit and 8-bit characters in the same
text.
* Search and replace 16-bit text.
* Sort lines of 16-bit character text.
The following Asian languages are now supported by HP EDIT/XL:
* Simplified Chinese (language number 201)
* Traditional Chinese (language number 211)
* Japanese (language number 221)
* Korean (language number 231)
Although HP EDIT/XL provides a user interface in English, HP EDIT/XL can
manipulate both Asian and English text. For example, to run HP EDIT/XL
with the Simplified Chinese text and the English user interface, the user
can type:
