FCOPY Now Supports KSAM XL Files

FCOPY subsystem has been changed with this release of MPE XL in order to
support the Native Mode Keyed Sequential Access Method (NM KSAM) files.
The following describes the changes included with this release.
NEW SYNTAX FOR NM KSAM FILES
To convert a Compatibility Mode KSAM (CM KSAM) file into NM KSAM file,
you must specify the parentheses in the TO parameter. If the target file
is an existing NM KSAM file, you do not need to change anything to copy
to it. The following are the syntaxes for both old and new NM KSAM
files, where the "filename" is a NM KSAM file name:
1. The syntax for existing NM KSAM files
;TO = filename
2. The following are legal expressions for new NM KSAM files
;TO = (filename)
;TO = (filename);NEW
NOKSAM IS NOT VALID FOR NM KSAM FILES
The second change is that NOKSAM option is no longer valid for NM KSAM
files. NOKSAM allows you to copy the data file of a KSAM file with
fixed-length records to any MPE file. All indicated records of the data
file are copied, including those tagged for deletion. Although NOKSAM is
not a valid option for NM KSAM files, you can still use KEY=0 to copy NM
KSAM file in chronological sequence but excluding deleted records. The
other syntax and options are the same as before. For more detailed
information about the syntax and options of FCOPY, refer to FCOPY
Reference Manual (P/N 32650-60028).
NEW ERROR MESSAGES
The following are the two new error messages for these new FCOPY changes:
1. ERROR 908: NOKSAM IS NOT A VALID OPTION FOR KSAM XL FILES.
2. ERROR 909: VARIABLE RECORD FORMAT IS NOT SUPPORTED FOR KSAM XL FILES.
