AdvanceMail Host Enhancements by Karen Costello, Office Productivity Division The AdvanceMail Host is the HP 3000 component of AdvanceMail. It allows users of AdvanceMail on the PC to integrate with HP DeskManager on the HP 3000. Enhancements The AdvanceMail Host (A.02.02) includes the following enhancements: * Support for HP OfficeShare LAN connections to MPE XL host * Configurable passwords for PCMAILON HP OfficeShare LAN Connections to MPE XL It is now possible to make an HP OfficeShare LAN connection to an MPE XL machine with AdvanceMail. In order to use this capability, the following are required: * MPE XL 1.2 (or later) * HP DeskManager B.03.A0 (or later) already installed * NS 3000/XL Configurable Passwords for PCMAILON The "passedit" feature of HP DeskManager can now be used to configure the passwords on user ADVMAIL.HPOFFICE and account HPOFFICE. The AdvanceMail Host will pick them up automatically. This means startup of the OfficeShare version of AdvanceMail can be achieved simply by typing PCMAILON. There is no longer a need to remember passwords. User ADVMAIL.HPOFFICE and the HPOFFICE account will now be more secure.
