HP 3000 Series 9X8LX Computer Systems Getting Started

To start your system from the ISL prompt

   1. Type the following at the ISL> prompt:

            ISL> START NORECOVERY Return

       _________________________________________________________________

NOTE If you have not configured your HP 3000 Series 9X8LX system,
use the default configuration group for your system, for
             example type:

                  ISL> START NORECOVERY GROUP=CONFIG9X8 Return

       _________________________________________________________________

   2. After a few minutes, you are prompted to confirm the date and
time. If you do not respond within 15 seconds, the system accepts
the displayed date and time by default and continues with the
startup process. If the date and time are not correct, respond
accordingly. Enter the time in 24-hour format (for example, 5:00
       pm is entered as 17:00).

       _________________________________________________________________

NOTE Do not be alarmed if you inadvertently miss the system's
time-out to change the date and time. You will be given
another opportunity to change the date and time when you
             reboot the system.

       _________________________________________________________________

Your system will display some warning messages on the console
telling you that unconfigured devices are attached to your system.

Do not be concerned. These messages are normal during your first
boot up. They appear during the first bootup because you have not
       completed your final configuration.

When the system is ready for you to proceed, a system prompt
appears. The typical prompt at this point is the colon (:). At
this point, you are automatically logged on to the system as
OPERATOR.SYS and can begin performing system management tasks such
as configuration and creating user accounts.
