Chapter 5 Performance Tuning

Proper performance tuning is important for keeping your system running as
efficiently as possible. Listed below are some things you can do to
ensure optimum performance.

   * Be sure your system has enough memory. Access SQL/iX will operate
with the minimum recommended memory for the version of MPE/iX you
are running, plus the minimum additional memory needed for network
       installation.

   * The System Manager and the Database Administrator should
periodically review system requirements and resource management.
Be sure the tables set up during implementation are appropriate
for your system and they continue to meet users' needs.

   * For suggestions on improving ALLBASE/SQL performance, see Chapter
6, "Controlling Performance," in the ALLBASE/SQL Database
       Administration Guide.

   * For information on ORACLE performance tuning, see the ORACLE RDBMS
       Performance Tuning Guide Version 6.0.

   * For information on INGRES performance tuning, see the INGRES
       Database Administrator's Guide.
