With this powerful set of software tools you can develop COBOL applications for a variety of UNIX, UNIX-based, and X/Open-conformant operating systems. You can easily migrate COBOL applications from many other systems and dialects, including DOS, OS/2, Microsoft Windows, and IBM mainframe COBOL. This is one of a pair of products. Micro Focus COBOL gives you the ability to write programs using the full Micro Focus COBOL language. It also includes valuable programming tools. Micro Focus COBOL Toolbox (often called Toolbox for short) includes everything that is in Micro Focus COBOL and also provides an integrated environment for handling source code and running object code. You will find occasional references in these manuals to "the add-on products". These are a range of further products available for use with Micro Focus COBOL and Toolbox. Examples are Dialog System and Co-Writer. See your sales representative for details. Micro Focus COBOL and Micro Focus COBOL Toolbox are the successors to the products Micro Focus COBOL/2 and Micro Focus COBOL/2 with Toolbox.
