Reforecasting
If the forecast is not valid, you should repeat the forecast process with
different options to generate a valid forecast.
HP RXForecast accommodates trial and error because it enables you to
easily change the options (such as Shift, Points Every, Start and Stop
dates) and because it requires little time to produce a forecast.
If necessary, adjust and reforecast or collect more data and return to
the beginning of the forecasting process.
This could mean selecting different data ranges, enabling or disabling
seasonality, choosing a different forecasting method, or looking at
application data.
Examples of reforecasting are included in Chapter 5 .
This chapter has covered the basic forecasting process of HP RXForecast.
When you feel you are ready, try the case studies (Chapter 5 ), which
demonstrate how to use the process with an actual logfile.
