Chapter 7 Diagnostics
HP Resource Sharing uses the Host Diagnostic Interface programs to test
printer and disc sharing functions.
Diagnostic tests available for Resource Sharing include:
* Verification Test, which checks for the presence of all files and
program components and ensures that the version number of each is
acceptable.
* Go/No Go Test, which exercises the minimum functions of each
component to ensure that basic operation is possible.
* CHKDISC Test, which checks and corrects the structure and
integrity of a shared disc.
* Table Utilization Test, which monitors system limits you set for
Resource Sharing in the CONFIG area of RESMGR.
Before You Begin
These diagnostic programs are provided as a troubleshooting tool. Before
you use them, check basic operation of the network and of remote file
access (Shared Devices). Refer to your PC network manuals for more
information.
