Review the material in Lesson 3 by answering the following questions.
________________________________________________________________________
Q-1. How do the List and Show functions differ?
A-1. The List function looks for all members of a given category (users,
databases, etc.). The Show function allows you to look at single entries
(a given user, a given database, etc.). (Lesson 3:B)
________________________________________________________________________
Q-2. What are the two types of changes?
A-2. The two types of changes possible are "key" information changes and
"attribute" information changes. (Lesson 3:A)
________________________________________________________________________
Q-3. Of these types, which can be performed within Change screens?
A-3. Change screens are provided for "attribute" information changes.
"Key" information changes (such as changes to user names, access group
names, database names, security information, and so on) require deleting
an entry and then adding it. The one exception is tables, which can be
renamed at the Copy Table screen. (Lesson 3:A)
________________________________________________________________________
Q-4. Must changes be performed in a particular order?
A-4. Yes, for "key" information. (Lesson 3:A. For specifics, refer to
"Order for Additions and Deletions" in the Information Access Server:
Database Administration manual.)
________________________________________________________________________
Q-5. How does the Administrator Utility let you know when a change has
been successfully completed?
A-5. Upon successful completion, the Administrator Utility clears the
screen or redisplays the first group of fields for that screen. (Lesson
3:C)
________________________________________________________________________
Q-6. What happens when you delete a database definition?
A-6. The Administrator Utility deletes all table definitions associated
with that database. This includes IMAGE tables and view tables which
draw any of their data from the deleted database. (Lesson 3:D)
