Changing a Controlling DBA
At the Change Controlling DBA Menu (CCD), the menu path you choose will
let you change the controlling DBA for IMAGE database or file data
sources, or for an access group.
Changing the Controlling DBA for a Data Source
Choose the data source for which you're changing the controlling DBA:
* Go directly to the screen you want by typing its screen name in
the Go to screen field of any menu and pressing Enter, or
* Choose a function label at the Change Controlling DBA Menu (CCD).
The Change Controlling DBA Menu is shown on the next page.

DBA Capabilities.
If you are the primary DBA, you can change the controlling DBA for any
data source. If you are a secondary DBA, you can change the controlling
DBA for only a data source you control.
To Change the Controlling DBA for an IMAGE Database:.
1. Go to the Change Controlling DBA for an IMAGE Database screen by
typing CCDIMD in the Go to screen field of any menu, or by
choosing IMAGE Database f1 at the Change Controlling DBA Menu.
2. Type the information that uniquely identifies the database and the
name of the DBA to whom you are giving control.
3. Press Enter.
The specified DBA gains control of the database, all IMAGE tables
derived from it, and related view tables. (Secondary DBAs are
given control of a view table if they control all tables used in
its definition.)
However, if the view table needs a table that the "giving" DBA
still controls, the view table is placed under control of the
primary DBA.
4. When the screen clears, you can assign a controlling DBA to
another database.
5. To leave the screen, choose Done f8. This returns you to the
Change Controlling DBA Menu. From there, you can go to another
screen or exit the utility.
To Change the Controlling DBA for a File:.
1. Go the the Change Controlling DBA for a File screen by typing CCDF
in the Go to screen field of any menu, or by choosing File f2 at
the Change Controlling DBA Menu.
2. Type the information that uniquely identifies the file and the
name of the DBA to whom you are giving control.
3. Press Enter.
The specified DBA gains control of the file, all file tables
derived from it, and related view tables. (Secondary DBAs are
given control of a view table if they control all tables used in
its definition.)
However, if the view table needs a table that the "giving" DBA
still controls, the view table is placed under control of the
primary DBA.
4. When the screen clears, you can assign a controlling DBA to
another file.
5. To leave this screen, choose Done f8. This returns you to the
Change Controlling DBA Menu. From there you can go to another

Changing the Controlling DBA for an Access Group
Choose the access group for which you're changing the controlling DBA.
DBA Capabilities.
If you are the primary DBA, you can change the controlling DBA for all
access groups. If you are a secondary DBA, you can change the
controlling DBA only for access groups you control.
To Change the Controlling DBA for an Access Group:.
1. Go the the Change Controlling DBA for an Acccess Group screen by
typing CCDA in the Go to screen field of any menu, or by choosing
Access Group f3 at the Change Controlling DBA Menu.
2. Type the information that uniquely identifies the access group and
the name of the DBA to whom you are giving control.
3. Press Enter.
The specified DBA gains control of the access group.
4. When the screen clears, you can assign a controlling DBA to
another access group.
5. To leave this screen, choose Done f8. This returns you to the
Change Controlling DBA Menu. From there you can go to another
screen or exit the utility.
