Table Security Menu
Table Security Menu
At the Table Security Menu (TS), the menu path you choose will let you
add, change, delete, or examine table security definitions. You define
table security with the Add/Delete Table Security by Table and Add/Delete
Table Security by Group screens as appropriate.
To handle table security definitions:
* Go directly to the screen you want by typing its screen name in
the Go to screen field of any menu and pressing Enter, or
* Choose a function label at the Table Security Menu (TS).
The Table Security Menu looks like this.

Privileged Users.
When a PC user who is a member of a capability-2 or capability-3 access
group configures an IMAGE table, Access Server automatically adds table
security by assigning the user's access group to the table.
PC users who belong to a capability-3 access group can delete any
configured table (view, IMAGE, or file) to which their access group is
the only access group assigned.
Adding Table Security by Table
Add table security by table by assigning one or more access groups to a
table at the Add/Delete Table Security by Table (ADTST) screen, shown on
the next page. Only those access groups will have access to the table.
DBA Capabilities.
If you are the primary DBA, you can add table security for all tables.
If you are a secondary DBA, you can add table security only for the
tables you control.

items in the table.
Deleting Table Security by Table
Delete table security by table by removing one or more unwanted access
groups from a table at the Add/Delete Table Security by Table (ADTST)
screen.
Impact on PC Users.
Removing an access group from the list of access groups assigned to a
table can have two different effects:
* If the access group being removed is the only access group
assigned to the table, then removing this access group turns the
table into a public table, accessible to all users. (Items within
the table may still have been secured using the Item Security
screens.)
* If there are other access groups assigned to the table, then
removing this access group prevents its users from accessing the
table.
CAUTION Before deleting table security, review your current Access
Server security to make sure you don't inadvertently create a
public table. For example, if configured table TABLE1 has only
one access group GROUP1 assigned to it, then deleting GROUP1
makes TABLE1 a public table until you assign some other access
group to it. Similar side effects are also possible with
secured items within tables.
DBA Capabilities.
If you are the primary DBA, you can delete table security for all tables.
If you are a secondary DBA, you can delete item security only for the
tables you control.

groups currently assigned to the table are indicated by an X in
the Sel field.
3. To delete one or more access groups, type a space over the X in
the Sel field next to the access group name(s).
4. To leave this screen, choose Done f8. This returns you to the
