About Tables
Before you can define a table, the data sources from which you want to
derive your table data (and any relevant remote systems) must already be
defined. (For information on "Configuring Remote HP 3000 Systems" and
"Configuring Data Sources," see Chapters 3 and 4.)
Types of Tables
Three types of tables can be configured in the Administrator Utility:
* IMAGE tables are derived from one IMAGE dataset on the host HP
3000 or on a remote HP 3000.
* File tables are derived from a file on the host HP 3000 or on a
remote HP 3000.
* View tables give you the flexibility to redefine into a new "view"
any information contained in previously defined tables. Before
you can define a view table, the tables from which it will derive
its information must already be defined. View tables can combine
information selected from IMAGE, file, and other view tables.
