Important Installation Information [REV BEG]

[REV END] The information in this guide provides instructions that enable you to install the following products yourself: * The main computer (HP 3000 Series 917LX, 927LX, or 937LX). * Terminals (both the system console and the user terminals). * The DTC-16 (HP 2340A) configured as shown in the "Identifying and Installing Your HP 2340A DTC" section of this chapter. You may install up to a total of three DTC-16s provided that they are all in this configuration. * External disk drives, up to a total of three in a single Series 6000 cabinet. * Serial (RS-232) printers. * System software. Products that require installation assistance There are some products that require a service representative to assist in the installation process. Depending on what you have ordered, you may have received a package containing up to three [REV BEG]subsystem[REV END] tapes, each tape has the label "MPE/iX Subsys." Included in this package is a manual titled, [REV BEG] HP 3000 MPE/iX Installation, Update, and Add-On Manual (36123-90001).[REV END] If you received this package, we recommend that you contact your service representative to complete the process of preparing your software for use. Examples of other products that you are not expected to install yourself are: * Any internal components for the computer. * Any HP-IB or HP-FL devices. * Any DTC that is different from the one described above and pictured in [REV BEG]Figure 2-19 and Figure 2-20[REV END] of this chapter. An example is the DTC-48, HP 2345A.
