Using Your System The User's Guide

What Is HP Easytime/iX?

HP Easytime/iX is an easy-to-use program through which you can
communicate with your HP 3000 computer. Based on a system of pull-down
menus, HP Easytime/iX guides you with descriptive phrases through the
day-to-day tasks that you need to do your job, whether that means
managing system resources, starting a job, printing a report, or sending
a message to another user on the system.

Whether you are the person who manages the system (in this documentation
set, this role is referred to as system administrator) or someone who
only uses applications on it, HP Easytime/iX provides easy methods or
several tasks. The system administrator manages the system in many ways
such as creating accounts and users, setting passwords, establishing
schedules for backups, and replying to requests. Some of these tasks can
be done through HP Easytime/iX.

For example, HP Easytime/iX screens provide ways to inform users of
backup schedules, a system administration task. The screens also provide
ways for all users to send messages to each other, or to the person
operating the console. HP Easytime/iX helps in performing both system
administration tasks and end user tasks.

Here are just some of the tasks that you can perform with HP Easytime/iX:

   * print, copy, rename, delete, and store files

   * review and manage files waiting to be printed

   *   start and delete jobs

   *   show and delete sessions

   * send messages to other users

   * review messages and reply to requests from the system

   * perform full and partial backups

   * access an extensive online Help Facility

   * sort and display information to meet your special needs
