HP Predictive Support User's Guide Addendum for HP 3000 Series 900

Features as of the B.50.10 Release

Features as of the B.50.10 Release

The B.50.10 release of HP Predictive Support provides:

Integration with HP OpenView System Manager.

HP OpenView System Manager allows you to monitor and manage multiple
systems from a central console. Now you can view HP Predictive Support
events for all of your systems and peripherals from the HP OpenView
Windows Workstation.

Monitoring Available Disk Space.

The new DISKTRAK utility monitors the amount of permanent disk space in
use on all mounted volumes, and then alerts you when a volumeset reaches
the specified threshold. You set the desired threshold through the HP
Predictive Support user interface, PSCONFIG.

Improved Memory Reliability.

Memory error detection has been enhanced to include the memory page
deallocation features built into the newest systems and the MPE/iX
Fundamental Operating System (FOS).

Various types of memory errors are detected by on-line Diagnostics and HP
Predictive Support trends the data. Additional HP Predictive Support
rules are provided to detect potential memory board failures before they
cause unplanned down time.

Configuring and Maintaining Proactive Patching.

Customers with high-end support contracts can enable tracking of the
software and patches installed on their systems, and they can add a group
ID used to group their systems for identification and remote support.
Also, they can resend the lists that help the HP Response Center to track
the inventory of the software and patches installed on their systems.

Support for the Newest Systems and Disk Drives.

As with previous releases of HP Predictive Support, this release covers
HP's newest systems and disk drives.
