Making a Small Detour You have traveled as far as you can using only Trapper's summarized information. Now you need details about applications and processes, and you need information collected over a much shorter time interval. You need to find out all you can about data collected between 15 and 19 August 1988. To avoid transferring the entire 63 Mbytes of data files to your PC, you can extract only the detailed data covering this short interval from the CD. For this journey, this has been done for you. We ran the EXTRACT program on the host, specifying the time interval 15 through 19 August. We did not skip weekends. We extracted global, application, and process records, as well as global and application summaries. The resulting file, TRAPPER2.PRF, is on the HP LaserRX/MPE CD. It contains about 9.5 Mbytes, a bit more than the first TRAPPER.PRF file (3.1 Mbytes), but still much smaller than the original.
