Chapter 2 Verify Installation and Update LAN Configuration This chapter describes how to verify the installation of FTP, and how to update the configuration of the local area network (LAN) link for Ethernet support. References for configuring a new LAN or X.25 link are also provided. If you are installing a new MPE/iX system and link or are updating to a new release of MPE/iX, refer to the HP 3000 MPE/iX Installation, Update, and Add On Manual (customer order number 36123-90001) for instructions on loading your operating system and subsystem tapes. There are no additional configuration steps needed to use FTP over an X.25 link. To configure the X.25 products, refer to the NS3000/XL Network Planning and Configuration Guide. To configure a new LAN link, refer to the NS3000/XL Network Planning and Configuration Guide, and then return to this manual. If you are providing Ethernet support, remember to update the LAN Configuration screen Enable Ethernet field to yes (Y).
