HP DeskManager Customization
$IDNONHP
Syntax
$IDNONHP <page no> [,"<subject>"]
where:
<page no> is the page number of the help text being entered,
in the range 0-8999.
<subject> is an optional title or a description of a page, up
to 60 characters in length.
Description
The $IDNONHP directive is used to declare a help page that will not be
overwritten by subsequent installations of the HP Desk help system. That
is, if you choose to modify one of the Hewlett-Packard supplied help
pages, or you wish to write your own page, and you want to avoid having
to make the change again and again as new versions of HP Desk are
installed, you should ensure that the page is declared as $IDNONHP. The
install process will not overwrite pages that are declared in this way.
This directive must form the first record of the file. It must be
followed by a page identifier number, in the range 9000-9999. If it is
to be an extension page, a suitable identifier, as described in the "Page
Identifiers" section, must be used. If the description is omitted,
any text given for a $TITLE directive, if present in the file, is used
for the menu entry.
In addition to the functions detailed for $ID, the <page no> parameter in
the $IDNONHP directive may be of the form <pnum> <tnum> where <pnum> is
an installed page and <tnum> is the number of a tag page that is to be
appended to the installed page. This allows you to create a help page
which, when it is installed, will automatically be appended to an
existing page. This means that it is not necessary to specifically edit
an existing installed page to update it with new information. For your
own use, the tag page numbers should end in 9. (Refer to $TAG for more
information.)
Example
$IDNONHP 9999,"using the employee requisition form"
$IDNONHP 0,9009
$IDNONHP 9000 "CALCULATE ACCOUNTS"
The second example defines a page, the contents of which will be
automatically appended to the HP Desk Main Menu help page (page 0).
