HP DeskManager Administration

Electronic Mail

HP Desk users receive mail in their In Tray. When users mail a message,
it is automatically placed in their Out Tray for collection.

To enable the message to reach its destination a user writes the name,
and sometimes the address, of the intended recipient. Address
information is in the HP Desk Directory and is accessed by using the
LOOKUP command. The electronic mail service provided by HP Desk is
similar to any paper-based mail system used in your organization.

To administer HP Desk you need to know how HP Desk distributes mail.
This chapter introduces the way HP Desk works.

The sections describe:

Local Mail delivery from one user to another on the same
                     computer.

Networked Mail distributing mail through a network of linked
                     computers running HP Desk.

Mail in a System exchanging mail between HP Desk and non-HP Desk
with Gateways systems.
