SCRATCH

Syntax

SCRATCH {[MEDIA=]media name} {[MEDIASUB=]media subname} {[LDEV=]moldev}

{[ERASE=]yes|no}

Parameters

          MEDIA Specifies the name of the media set to be made
                     available for reuse by STORE/iX II. The media name
                     is the name assigned during the STORE operation.

        MEDIASUB Specifies the name of the surface within the media
                     set to scratch. The media subname is the subname
                     assigned during the STORE operation.

        LDEV Specifies the LDEV number of the optical disk to be
                     scratched. The number assigned as the LDEV can
                     range from 2 to 32767.

        ERASE Specifies whether the magneto-optical media should
                     be pre-erased. The ERASE option will provide a
                     significant performance improvement when the media
                     is used for backup.

Description
