Restoring from an Online Backup You restore online backup files the same way you restore any other backup files. When online backup files are restored, the original image of each stored file is reconstructed using the file data and log data, if any, created during the online backup. Therefore, the contents of the restored file will appear exactly as the contents of the file appeared the moment it was attached to the shadow subsystem during online backup.
