SPU Switchover/XL Configuration Files
SPU Switchover/XL configuration files are kept in the same groups as
other configuration files and have similar properties, with the following
exceptions:
* If the SPU configuration changes are kept to the standard
configuration files that the system was booted from, the changes
take effect when the SPUCONTROL SETUP command is executed. If the
configuration changes are kept to a different group, the system
must be rebooted in order for the changes to take effect, and then
another SPUCONTROL SETUP command must be issued.
* In order for the SPU configuration files to be kept synchronized
between SPUs that are identified as pairs, the synchronization is
done by the system where the configuration is set up. This is
done through the execution of the SPUCONTROL SETUP command.
Configuration changes can be done on either system since the
configuration file exists on both systems. However, any new
volume sets that are added to the configuration must be mounted in
the MASTER, MEMBER, or LONER state on the system where the
configuration is being done.
Volume sets that are homed to the system where the configuration
is being done must be in the MASTER or MEMBER state.
Volume sets that are homed to another system must be VSCLOSEd and
in the LONER state. The SPUCONTROL SETUP command will push the
closed volume sets over to the other system.
