SPU Switchover/XL User's Guide
Performing a Network Switchback
To perform a network switchback from the alternate to the home system,
the following steps are required:
1. From the alternate system, enter the following commands:
: NSCONTROL ABORT Return
: NETCONTROL STOP Return
This is required to stop the LAN and X.25.
2. From the OpenView DTC Manager workstation, perform the following:
a. Stop the OpenView DTC Manager.
b. Close all windows.
c. Exit windows.
3. From the DOS command on the OpenView DTC Manager workstation,
change to the directory where the OpenView DTC Manager is
installed. For example:
C: > CD DTCMGR Return
The DTC files that reside in this directory must contain the
working configuration file, the backup configuration file, and the
main configuration file. For example:
DTC01.DTC the working configuration file
DTC01.BAC the backup configuration file
DTC01.MAI the main configuration file
4. Copy the main configuration file over the working configuration
file, for example:
C:/DTCMGR > XCOPY DTC01.MAI DTC01.DTC/S Return
5. From the OpenView DTC Manager workstation, restart the OpenView
DTC Manger and perform the following:
a. Select DTC.
b. Log on.
c. Reset the DTC CPU.
d. Start X.25.
6. From the alternate system, enter the following command:
: COPY NMCONBAC.PUB.SYS,NMCONFIG.PUB.SYS Return
7. From both the home and alternate systems, enter the following
commands to restart all network connections:
: NETCONTROL START;NET=lan1 Return
: NETCONTROL START;NET=X25net Return
