Chapter 2 Planning Your Migration from Business BASIC/V
Introduction
Follow the steps below to plan your migration. These tasks are described
in detail in this chapter, except where noted.
1. Be sure you have all the software you need for a successful
migration.
2. Back up all the files you intend to migrate. Keep a store tape.
3. Set up account structures on the MPE XL system. One suggested way
is to use separate accounts for Business BASIC/V source code and
HP Business BASIC/XL source code:
a. OLDBBV (for Business BASIC/V source)
b. NEWBBXL (for HP Business BASIC/XL source)
Consult your system manager or refer to the MPE XL Commands
Reference Manual for information about setting up accounts and
groups.
4. Move files to the MPE XL machine.
5. Examine potential problems.
