New Features of MPE/iX: Using the Hierarchical File System

Showing Your Current Working Directory

MPE/iX provides a CI variable called HPCWD that keeps track of your
current working directory (CWD). As you move around in the file system,
it is useful to display your current location.

To find out your CWD, type the following command:
_______________________________________________

     :showvar hpcwd
     HPCWD = /SYS/PUB/Directory1/Directory2

_______________________________________________

The pathname of the directory is presented from the root directory down
to the current location.

You can change your prompt so that it shows your current working
directory at all times by including the variable in the prompt. Refer to
the section "Change your prompt to show the current working directory" in
Chapter 1.
