Chapter 6  File System 

The File System is the part of the MPE/iX operating system that manages
data access on the 900 Series of the HP 3000 family of computers.  The
MPE/iX I/O System transfers data between the File System and physical
devices (for example, printers and tape drives).  Figure 6-1  shows
the relationships of a program, the MPE/iX File System, the MPE/iX I/O
System and the system hardware.  The File System is the interface between
a program and the rest of the system.
