EDIT/3000:Reference Manual

1-5.  INPUT FILE 

The INPUT file normally is used to enter commands and text records to
EDIT/3000.  Generally this file is a terminal in interactive mode and a
batch input device (such as a card reader) in batch mode.  EDITIN is
EDIT/3000's formal designator for the input file.
