Controlling Spooled Files

The characteristics of files can be controlled before or after they are
sent to spoolers. Spooled files can also be deleted from the system.

Changing the Output Priority of a Spooled File

The syntax to change the output priority of a spooled file is:

     SPOOLF #Onnn;ALTER;PRI=outputpriority

or

     ALTSPOOLFILE #Onnn;PRI=outputpriority

Preventing a Spooled File From Printing

The syntax for preventing a spooled file from printing is:

     SPOOLF #Onnn;DEFER

or

     ALTSPOOLFILE #Onnn;DEFER

This changes the output priority of the file to 0. If the file is
ACTIVE, printing will be aborted.

Releasing a Spooled File

The syntax to release a retained spoolfile is:

     SPOOLER ldev;RELEASE

The OFFSET parameter may be added to specify the spoolfile location where
printing will begin when the spoolfile finally begins to print.

Deleting a Spooled File

The syntax for deleting a spooled file is:

     SPOOLF #Onnn;DELETE

or

     DELETESPOOLFILE #Onnn

If the file is ACTIVE, printing will be aborted.
