HP SYSTEM DICTIONARY XL COBOL DEFINITION EXTRACTOR Reference Manual

Session Mode vs. Batch Mode

You can run SDCDE in either session mode or in batch mode. Some
differences exist, however, between the two modes.

When running in batch mode, both [[CONTROL]] Y and the REDO command are
disabled. Also note that, in batch mode, any old SDLOG file is
automatically overwritten. No confirmation prompt is issued. When
running in session mode, any run option other than 0 or -1 is ignored.
