HP System Dictionary XL Intrinsics

Chapter 4  Dictionary Intrinsics 

Overview 

This chapter includes an alphabetically ordered, complete description of
each intrinsic.  Each description uses the following format:

   1.  Intrinsic Name 

   2.  Syntax of the intrinsic.  The conventions used within syntax boxes
       are explained on page 18, "Conventions Used in This Manual".

   3.  Parameter descriptions.  These include type, input or output, and
       whether passed by reference or passed by value.

       NOTE : All parameters in System Dictionary are required, and
       unless otherwise specified, are passed by reference.

   4.  Discussion.  This provides dictionary open mode and security
       requirements, and details not listed in the individual parameter
       descriptions.


NOTE The description of the Status parameter in several intrinsics refers to Table 3-1. This table is located in each of the parameter type subchapters in Chapter 3 of this manual, within the description of the Status parameter. The SPL version of this table is Table 3-1, located in Appendix C of this manual.
