Parameters
encoder Stop the encoder.
decoder Stop the decoder.
x4xfer Stop the X.400 Transfer process.
x4mailer Stop the X.400 mailer.
mta Stop the Message Transfer Agent.
rts Stop the Reliable Transfer Server.
x4dskcon Start the HP X.400/HP Desk Node processes (MTA, RTS,
encoder, decoder, x4xfer, and remsh9k).
x4smcon Start the X.400 processes for the Sendmail connection
(MTA, RTS, and x4mailer).
Description
The parameters allow you to specify the X.400 components to be stopped.
If you do not specify any parameters, x4stop stops all HP X.400/HP Desk
Node processes if an HP X.400/HP Desk Node is configured, all X.400
processes for the Sendmail connection if the Sendmail connection is
configured, or both sets of processes if both an HP X.400/HP Desk Node
and the Sendmail connection are configured. If you want specific X.400
components stopped, specify the particular components. You can specify
the parameters in any order or combination.
The file that triggers shutdown to occur is placed in the X.400 system
directory, /usr/spool/x400. X.400 processes look for this file between
activities. As a result, shutdown may not occur immediately if a process
is conducting an activity of some duration.
