Chapter 4 Troubleshooting X.400 Overview The diagnostic utilities provide rapid access to information about the system. This information helps determine the cause of and perhaps a solution to the problem. Diagnosis includes the use of utilities, status commands, and event and error logs. Anyone with a general understanding of the X.400 system can use these utilities. Knowledge of the X.400 MHS model and recommendations is also helpful. Procedure tracing can also be used to isolate a problem, but is usually helpful only to HP Representatives. Procedure tracing uses a large amount of disk space. Take procedure traces only when directed to do so by your HP Representative.
