Using the Node Management Services (NMS) Utilities

WRITECONF

Writes data to individual fields of the current path in the configuration
file.

Syntax

WRITECONF fieldname, data

Parameters

fieldname The field name associated with the current path.

data The data to be written to the field. If the data
contains embedded blanks, it must be enclosed in
                      double quotes ("").

Description

WRITECONF writes data to an internal buffer that initially contains the
data associated with the current page of the current path in the
configuration file. The file is updated when the UPDATECONF command is
performed.

The CARDCONF command (used to set the current card values) must be
specified before a PATHCONF command for any DTC card screen.

Once these commands are specified, the WRITECONF and UPDATECONF commands
can be performed.

Example

To update the value of field 1 for the current path:

NMMGR>OPENCONF NMCONFIG.PUB.SYS (Opens the configuration
                                            file.)
NMMGR>VERSIONCONF V.uu.ff (Checks the version number of
                                            NMMGR.)
NMMGR>PATHCONF NODENAME (Sets the path to the
                                            screen.)
NMMGR>WRITECONF NODENAME, "MY.LOCAL.NODE" (Enters the data into the
                                            field.)
NMMGR>UPDATECONF (Updates the configuration
                                            file.)
