Parameter

dtcnum

The number TermDSM associated with a particular DTC. The DTC command
lists each DTC with its assigned number. This list is also printed when
you make a mistake while typing in a DTC number.

Range: 1 - n where n is the total number of DTCs configured
                 for the system.

CAUTION This subcommand resets all sessions on the DTC under test.
Description When this subcommand is entered, the following message will be printed on the terminal: Warning: This will reset all users on that DTC. As many as 48 terminal users could be affected. (TDSM 44) Do you want to continue (yes or no)? If you respond no, the DUMP prompt will be repeated for you to enter another DUMP subcommand. If you respond yes, the dump continues after the following message: The DTC dump can take as long as 7 minutes. The DTC dump information is placed in two files. The first file contains information about the part of the DTS software that resides on the host (the HP 3000). When the dump of this information is complete, the following information will be displayed: The following two files make up the DTC dump. Please deliver both to your HP representative: (TDSM 64) S hhhhhhc.PUB.SYS TRM dddll.PUB.SYS where hhhhhh is the last six hexadecimal digits of the DTC's LAN address and c is a character in the range from A to Z. The ddd is the Julian day of the year and ll is a two-character string in the range: AA, AB, AC,..., BA, BB, BC,..., ZZ This numbering system allows you to create many dump files in one day and to later know on what day each dump was created by simply looking at the file name. If you need to send dump information to HP to have it analyzed, make sure that you send both dump files.
NOTE If all 26 (suffix A through Z) DTC dump files already exist, one will be overwritten by the current DTC dump. If you are doing a lot of DTC dumps, you may wish to store off or rename some dump files to preserve them.
Example (dump) Ldev # POrt #,#,# DTc # (carriage return to exit) ?DT 3 Warning: This will reset all users on that DTC. As many as 48 terminal users could be affected. (TDSM 44) Do you want to continue (yes/no)?y The DTC dump can take as long as 7 minutes. The following two files make up the DTC dump. Please deliver both to your HP representative: (TDSM 64) S900180C.PUB.SYS TRM120AC.PUB.SYS SIC SIC type SIC selftest status Ports (Good or x:bad) --- ------------------- ------------------- --------------------- 5 (not installed) 4 (not installed) 3 (not installed) 2 RS-232 Direct OK GGGG GGGG 1 RS-422 Direct OK GGGG GGGG 0 RS-232 Modem OK GGGG GG (dump) Ldev # POrt #,#,# DTc # (carriage return to exit) ?
