Chapter 5 Migrate NetWare Version 3.01B to 3.11A

There are a number of tasks you must complete to successfully migrate
your 3.01B NetWare and data to 3.11. Follow the procedures in this
chapter.
Be aware of the differences in as described listed in Table 5-1 .
Note that if you used the trial copy, then purchased NetWare 3.01B, some
of your default values reflect the trial copy defaults (server name,
internal network number).
NetWare 3.01B is supported on MPE/iX 4.x and 3.x retrofit only. NetWare
3.11 runs on MPE/iX 5.x and later.
To successfully migrate your NetWare product to NetWare/iX 3.11, you must
do the following as detailed in the following paragraphs.
1. Check the version of NetWare 3.01B you are using.
2. Check file system integrity.
3. Back up your system.
4. Next, install MPE/iX 5.0 and NetWare version 3.11 using AUTOINST,
and create the link device files.
5. Migrate your configuration files using SCONSOLE.
6. Determine migration options for bindery and files.
7. Run migration utility (MIGRATE) to migrate bindery and files.
8. Add migrated volumes to your configuration using SCONSOLE.
9. Perform printer configuration using PCONSOLE and SCONSOLE.
10. Decide what other configuration items must be completed, and
decide where to go next.
