HP ALLBASE/4GL Messages Under some conditions, HP ALLBASE/4GL displays messages on the screen. Messages always appear on the last two lines of the screen. HP ALLBASE/4GL uses a number of different types of messages. They are information messages, error messages, warnings, abort messages, and query messages. HP ALLBASE/4GL displays an error message if you enter invalid data in a screen field, or attempt an incorrect operation. If the error is caused by entering invalid data in a screen field, the field containing the invalid data is highlighted. You must correct the error before you can continue entering data or commit the screen. HP ALLBASE/4GL may also display query messages on the screen. When a query message is displayed, it creates an input field on the screen so you can enter your response to the query. Press Return after you have entered your response.
