Dictionary Menu 

This menu allows you to access the screens used to define the
characteristics of dictionary entries.

Menu Selections The dictionary main menu allows you to access the dictionary facilities. Some screens are accessed through submenus. The dictionary facilities and submenus are listed below. Field Specifications This selection displays the field specifications screen, allowing you to name a field and specify its characteristics. Validation Items This selection displays the validation items menu. Options on this menu allow you to define validation tables and ranges. Storage Items This selection displays the storage items menu. Options on this menu allow you to define variables, calculated items, numeric constants, alphanumeric constants, scratch-pad field names, application titles, and work areas. Record Layouts This selection displays the record layouts menu. Options on this menu allow you to assign a name to a record layout, and specify the details of the record layout. Database Items This selection displays the database items menu. Options on this menu allow you to define HP ALLBASE/SQL tables, HP TurboIMAGE/iX data sets, KSAM data files, and serial data files; create HP ALLBASE/SQL tables and KSAM data files; reformat KSAM data files; and delete HP ALLBASE/SQL tables and KSAM data files. Messages This selection displays the messages screen directly, allowing you to define the message type and enter the message text. Help Screens This selection displays the help screens screen directly, allowing you to name end-user help screens and enter the help message text. Catalog Display This selection displays the catalog display screen, allowing you to display the names of HP ALLBASE/4GL items already created. Refer to chapter 13 for details. Function Keys f1 Utility Menu Cancels the current screen and displays the utilities menu. f2 Screens Menu Cancels the current screen and displays the screen development menu. f3 Logic Menu Cancels the current screen and displays the logic menu. f4 Reports Menu Cancels the current screen and displays the reports menu.
