Sequence Numbers Keys The sequence numbers keys allow you to display the field numbers on the screen, or renumber the fields on manually numbered data screens. To display the field numbers, press the Sequence Numbers function key, and then press the Display Numbers function key. Press the Auto Number function key to resequence the fields on a manually numbered screen. You must resequence the fields on a manually numbered screen if you add an additional field or delete an existing field. The painter does not allow you to save a manually numbered screen if the fields need renumbering. To renumber the fields on a manually numbered data screen or window, press the Modify Numbers function key. You can now move to the field, press Return, and type over the numbers displayed in the screen fields. Press Return after you enter each number. You must start numbering the fields from 1, and you must number the fields sequentially and without breaks. Press the End Modify function key to terminate the modify numbers mode. You cannot save a manually numbered screen if the field numbering sequence is incorrect.
