Introduction to MPE XL for MPE V System Administrators
Storing and Restoring Spoolfiles
You may use the STORE and RESTORE commands to store spoolfiles to tape
and to restore them to your system. It is recommended that you use these
commands to move spoolfiles from one system to another so long as both
systems have the Native Mode Spooler. For information on transferring
spoolfiles to or from an unlike environment refer to the SPFXFER utility
described later in this chapter.
Storing All Output Spoolfiles
To store all output spoolfiles to tape, enter:
FILE T;DEV=TAPE
STORE @.OUT.HPSPOOL;*T;SHOW
The ;SHOW parameter produces a listing of files stored. You may enter
;SHOW=OFFLINE for an offline listing.
Restoring All Output Spoolfiles
To restore all output spoolfiles to your system, enter:
FILE T;DEV=TAPE
RESTORE @.OUT.HPSPOOL;*T;SHOW
NOTE Input spoolfiles are private and private spoolfiles may not be
stored. However, because input spoolfiles are generally used and
managed by the system there is seldom any reason to store them to
tape or move them to another system.
