Introduction to MPE XL for MPE V System Administrators
Overview
SHUTDOWN shuts down the operating system in an orderly manner. If done
properly, a SHUTDOWN preserves all system and user files. Before the
SHUTDOWN occurs, backlogged reports can be allowed to print or can be
saved to tape and replaced when the system is running again.
Shut down the system for maintenance, a physical move, or after changing
system configuration.
