Moving the Cursor to a Line
To position the cursor on a particular line, use the Go To Line command.
The Go To Line command may be executed from function key F7, Go To Line,
or may be executed by pressing g, the key assigned to the Go To Line
command.
The Go To Line command can be issued within any file. If the file is
unnumbered, HP EDIT will interpret your input as the number of records
from the beginning of the file. In a numbered file, the actual line
number is used. See the HP EDIT Reference Manual for more information on
creating and editing numbered files in HP EDIT.

Press F7, Go To Line [REV END]
When the Go To Line command is executed, HP EDIT prompts you for a line
number in the message line:
________________________________________________________________________
|Line? |
________________________________________________________________________
You must type a number and then press Return.
[REV BEG]
Type 3
Press Return[REV END]
The cursor is positioned on line 3. The Go To Line command will move the
cursor as long as you specify a valid number. If the line does not exist
in the file, the cursor moves to the next smaller number in the file. If
you give a number smaller than the first line number in the file, the
cursor moves to the first line in the file.
Pressing Return without first entering a line number will cancel the Go
To Line command. The cursor will remain positioned at the line it was on
before you performed the command.
