Appending Text
To enter text you must get into Text Entry mode by typing one of the
commands used for text entry. One such command is Append Character. The
key a is assigned to the Append Character command. To execute the Append
Character command, press the a key.

Press a[REV END]
Notice that the Status Line now indicates that you are in Text Entry
mode. Everything you type now will be treated as text until you press /
and then press Return. The / and Return used together causes Text Entry
mode to end. The ''/'' you enter in your text is erased when it is
followed by Return. If you need to enter a ''/'' in your text at the end
of a line, simply type ''/'' and a space before pressing Return.
You are now ready to type in text. Type the text as shown in the
following sample letter. At the end of a line, press Return to enter
text on the next line. To leave a blank line, press Return at the
beginning of the line. You can use the BACKSPACE (or [[backspace]]) key
to back up and type over mistakes. Do not worry about typing the letter
exactly as it appears since you will have a chance to correct mistakes
later.

Leave Text Entry mode when you have finished the letter.

Press /
Press Return[REV END]
You are now in Command mode. You will now save your text as a permanent
file.
