Appendix A Messages
This appendixcontains messages that are unique to SNA link activity.
These messages are described:
* SDLC link startup error messages: These are messages that can
occur when you start the SDLC link. These messages occur when the
SNACONTROL START command calls the WAN_Module_Config procedure and
encounters an error. They are logged in this format:
Linkname = LinkName Event Type = EventType
Log Class = LogClass Path = Path
Error Num = ErrorNumber Status = Status
* SDLC link driver error messages: These are messages that are
generated when errors are encountered by the SDLC link driver.
They are logged in this format:
Linkname = LinkName Event Type = EventType
Log Class = LogClass Location = Location
Sublocation = Sublocation Error Code = ErrorCode
State = State Cause Status = CauseStatus
Error Actions = ErrorActions
* SNACONTROL error messages: These are error messages generated by
SNACONTROL commands. Each message has this suffix:
SNACIERR
* SNA Transport error messages: These are run-time error messages
that can occur when SNA Transport intrinsics are used. Each
message has this suffix:
SNAERR
* SNA Transport logging messages: These are messages that are
logged for SNA Transport.
* SDLC link shutdown error messages: These are messages that can
occur when you stop the SDLC link. These messages occur when the
SNACONTROL STOP command calls the WAN_Kill_Module procedure and
encounters an error. They are logged in this format:
Linkname = LinkName Event Type = EventType
Log Class = LogClass Path = Path
Error Num = ErrorNumber Status = Status
* X.25 link failure error codes: These are codes that are generated
for X.25 link failures by the Qualified Logical Link Control
(QLLC) module. They are applicable based on the ErrorNum
displayed as part of these SNA Transport logging messages:
Link connect failure on node NodeName
subsystem = SubsysID, procedure = ProcNum, error num = ErrorNum
Link failure, recovery in progress on node NodeName
subsystem = SubsysID, procedure = ProcNum, error num = ErrorNum
Link failure, shutting down the node NodeName
subsystem = SubsysID, procedure = ProcNum, error num = ErrorNum
* X.25 link module configurator error codes: These are codes that
are generated by the X.25 link module configurator. They are
applicable based on the ErrorCode displayed as part of these SNA
Transport logging messages:
Attempt to close link failed on node NodeName
Subsystem = 734, Error Code = ErrorCode
Attempt to open link failed on node NodeName
Subsystem = 734, Error Code = ErrorCode
* X.25 link QLLC internal error codes: These are codes that are
generated by the X.25 link Qualified Logical Link Control (QLLC)
module when a QLLC internal error occurs. They are applicable
based on the ProcNum displayed as part of these SNA Transport
logging messages:
Link connect failure on node NodeName
subsystem = SubsysID, procedure = ProcNum, error num = ErrorNum
Link failure, recovery in progress on node NodeName
subsystem = SubsysID, procedure = ProcNum, error num = ErrorNum
Link failure, shutting down the node NodeName
subsystem = SubsysID, procedure = ProcNum, error num = ErrorNum
* NetView alerts error messages: These are the error messages that
can occur when an operator-generated NetView alert is sent.
* Network Dump Manager error messages: These are error messages
that are generated when errors occur while the SDLC link is being
dumped. Each message has this prefix:
**** DUMP ERROR
* Token Ring LAN error messages: These are messages generated by
the token ring driver or token ring card. Messages have the
following format:
Internal driver error in SYSLINK (LANWARN ####) or (LANERR ####)
where #### is an error number.
