Transact Enhancements 

Transact/iX, version A.05.01, contains 16 enhancements (which were
introduced in the MPE/iX Express 4 Based on 4.0 Communicator), in
addition to numerous defect repairs.  Following are brief descriptions of
the 16 enhancements added to Transact/iX:

   *   ALIGN has been added to the LIST verb to list an item on an even
       word boundary.

   *   The compiler option, CHCK, has been added to issue a warning
       message if a referenced item is never used in a LIST or PROMPT
       statement.

   *   STATUS has been added to the CALL verb, returning the status of a
       CALL.

   *   WORKFILE has been added to the FIND verb to allow use of a work
       file without sorting the contents of the work file.

   *   Four string functions were added to the LET verb:
              ASCII
              LENGTH
              POSITION
              VALUE

   *   Seven string functions were added to the MOVE verb:
              CHAR
              COL
              LOWER
              PROPER
              SPACE
              STRING
              UPPER

   *   You can now access Transact error information online using the MPE
       Command EXPLAIN.
