QUERY 3.0 Enhancements

QUERY is the Hewlett-Packard query facility for TurboIMAGE and IMAGE/SQL
databases. QUERY provides end-users with an environment for ad-hoc
queries and simple reporting.
Release 5.0 now has two QUERY program files in PUB.SYS. One is
QUERY.PUB.SYS, compatibility mode (CM) program, and the other is
QUERYNM.PUB.SYS, native mode (NM) program. Both program files have the
same features and operate identically. The NM version, taking advantage
of the advanced technology offered by MPE iX, has improved performance.
This 3.0 version of QUERY includes the following usability enhancements:
* Partial/generic key search and range retrieval using Third-Party
Indexing (TPI) interface with the retrieval (FIND, JOIN, and
MULTIFIND) commands
* IEEE Floating Point Real Number data types (E2 and E4)
* FIND retrieval limit increased from 260,064 to 550,000 entries
* QUERYNM has increased the literal table limit from 5000 to 16520
characters
* REPORT LP line size of 256 characters
* VERSION command now includes the VUF of dynamic transaction (DBX@)
procedures
NOTE Running QUERYNM with PARM=%777 is not supported.
