MPE/iX Tape Configuration Limits
by Larry Nichoalds
Commercial Systems Division
Beginning with the 5.0 MPE/iX General Release, the configuration limit of
8 tapes has been expanded to handle up to 32 devices. This configuration
enhancement is for all SCSI and HPIB tapes.
Configuration recommendations still apply as to the number of devices
that can be connected to any given host adapter card. However, given
sufficient host adapters, a system will support up to 32 devices
concurrently.
NOTE As tape devices are added, performance will not necessarily scale
linearly. Performance may vary depending on applications, system
types, number of devices configured onto each host adapter, and so
on.
For detailed configuration information, refer to the HP 3000 900 Series
Computer Systems Configuration Guide (5962-8407E).
