Files and Directories Under MPE/iX Accounts
Ali Shehk
Commercial Systems Division
The MPE/iX file system was enhanced to allow you to create hierarchical
directories directly underneath MPE/iX account nodes. Traditionally,
only MPE/iX group nodes existed underneath accounts.
In MPE/iX Release 4.5, the file system was enhanced to allow you to
create files and directories underneath the root node and underneath
MPE/iX groups. For example:
/
+ - - - + - - - +
| | |
SYS dir file_under_root
|
+ - - - + - - - +
| | |
PUB CONFIG DIAG *** ONLY MPE/iX groups
|
+ - - - + - - - +
| | |
NL dir file_under_group
In MPE/iX Release 5.0, files and hierarchical directories can now be
created underneath an MPE/iX account node. For example:
/
+ - - - + - - - +
| | |
SYS dir file_under_root
|
+ - - - + - - - + - - - + - - - +
| | | | |
PUB CONFIG DIAG dir file_under_acct
|
+ - - - + - - - +
| | |
NL dir file_under_group
The file file_under_acct can be accessed by specifying the pathname:
/SYS/file_under_acct.
Disk space occupied by files and directories underneath an account will
accumulate to the account disk-free space count and will be limited by
the account maximum disk space allowed for the account.
