COMMUNICATOR 3000 MPE/iX Release 5.0 (Core Software Release X.50.20)

SHOWIN and SHOWOUT Changes

Due to the increased number of devices supported in this MPE/iX release,
some changes to the output of the SHOWOUT and SHOWIN commands were
required.  Prior to MPE/iX Release 5.0, the Device File IDs (DFIDs) were
incremented for each open of a device.  Now, the DFID for non-printer
devices are now equal to the LDEV number for that device.  This means
that the #O number or #I number is equal to the LDEV number.  There are
no column or formatting changes.

For example, prior to MPE/iX Release 5.0, the non-printer SHOWOUT output
format looked like this:

     :showout dev=20;job=@

     DEV/CL   DFID       JOBNUM  FNAME    STATE FRM SPACE RANK PRI #C
     20       #O335      #S508   $STDLIST OPENED

     OUTFENCE = 6

With this release of MPE/iX, the SHOWOUT output format looks like this:

     :showout dev=20;job=@

     DEV/CL   DFID       JOBNUM  FNAME    STATE FRM SPACE RANK PRI #C
     20       #O20       #S508   $STDLIST OPENED

     OUTFENCE = 6

Prior to MPE/iX Release 5.0, the non-printer SHOWIN output format looked
like this:

     :showin dev=20;job=@

     DEV/CL   DFID       JOBNUM  FNAME    STATE FRM SPACE RANK PRI #C
     20       #I326      #S508   $STDIN   OPENED

With this release of MPE/iX, the SHOWIN output format looks like this:

     :showin dev=20;job=@

     DEV/CL   DFID       JOBNUM  FNAME    STATE FRM SPACE RANK PRI #C
     20       #I20       #S508   $STDIN   OPENED

For hot (non-spooled) printer devices, DFIDs starts at DFID #O6552 and
increases to DFID #O32767.  Multiple hot devices could have the same
DFID.

DFIDs for spooled devices have not changed and start at DFID #O1 and
increase to #O99999999.
