HP DeskManager Intrinsics
General Points to Note
The Intrinsics write information, warning and error messages to the
system operator's console and a central message log file in the HPOFFICE
account. This log file can be examined on screen with an editor, or
printed. The name of the log file is INTRNLOG.MAILDB.HPOFFICE, it
contains a copy of all the messages produced by the Intrinsics you are
running. It is a circular file with space for about 1000 messages, so
you always have a copy of the last 1000 messages produced by your system.
Warning and information messages may be configured to appear only on the
system operator's console, or both on the console and in the log file.
This configuration is done using MAILCONFIG. For more information on
MAILCONFIG refer to HP DeskManager Administration.
If an error occurs which is internal to the Intrinsics code, that is, it
is not the fault of your application, a message goes to the system
operator's console and INTRNLOG.MAILDB.HPOFFICE. In addition a spool file
is created in the account in which your application is running. This
spool file gives full details of the error which has occurred. When an
error like this happens, both the spool file and INTRNLOG should be sent
to Hewlett-Packard for investigation.
